Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel School of Textiles hosts Texcellence

The National Level Technical Symposium TEXCELLENCE 2026, organised at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management, concluded on a high note, bringing together students, academicians and industry experts on a dynamic platform for innovation and learning.
The inaugural session began with a welcome address by M Venkatalakshmi, followed by the presidential address by Director P Alli Rani, who highlighted the institution’s role and Coimbatore’s prominence in the global textile sector. Atul Asher and Kantial G Vora were honoured with the Textile Pioneer Award in recognition of their contributions to the industry. Repco Bank and MAG were the chief sponsors of the event.
Chief Guest Durai Palanisamy, along with other speakers, emphasised sustainability, advanced manufacturing and digital transformation as key drivers shaping the future of the textile sector. They encouraged students to adopt emerging technologies, develop entrepreneurial skills and contribute to India’s growing leadership in the global textile industry.
The valedictory session focused on sustainability and future prospects, with Rossitza Krueger of GIZ India highlighting initiatives in sustainable cotton and responsible supply chains. The symposium concluded with prize distribution, recognition of sponsors and cultural performances, successfully fostering knowledge exchange and inspiring participants to become future-ready professionals in the evolving textile landscape.
