Senior leader K.A. Sengottaiyan, who recently quit the AIADMK and joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam led by actor Vijay, has drawn attention after carrying Vijay’s photograph in his shirt pocket.
A long-time AIADMK functionary since the M.G. Ramachandran era, Sengottaiyan had held several key posts in the party, including that of Minister and MLA. He was expelled from the AIADMK earlier and subsequently joined Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam along with his supporters in the presence of the party leadership.
Following his induction, Sengottaiyan was appointed as an executive committee chief coordinator in the party.
Despite switching allegiance, Sengottaiyan had continued the practice of keeping photographs of former Chief Ministers M.G. Ramachandran and J. Jayalalithaa in his shirt pocket and had often praised both leaders on significant occasions.
However, in a recent public appearance, Sengottaiyan was seen carrying a photograph of Vijay in his pocket for the first time. The photo reportedly features M.G. Ramachandran on one side and J. Jayalalithaa on the other, alongside Vijay, symbolising his new political alignment.
