Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has married his long-time partner Sophie Shine, an Irish-born corporate executive, in a private ceremony held in the Delhi-NCR region.
The wedding was attended by close friends and family members. Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal shared photographs from the ceremony on social media, confirming the development and drawing congratulatory messages from fans and members of the cricketing fraternity.
Dhawan and Sophie Shine are learnt to have met in Dubai several years ago, where their friendship gradually blossomed into a relationship. The couple made their relationship public in May 2025 through social media posts.
Sophie Shine currently serves as Second Vice President at Northern Trust Corporation, a US-based financial services company. She is also associated with philanthropic initiatives linked to Dhawan and is said to be the chairperson of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, the charitable arm connected to his sports venture.
Dhawan was previously married to Ayesha Mukherjee in 2012. The couple has a son, Zoravar. They separated in 2021 citing irreconcilable differences and were granted a divorce by a Delhi court in October 2023.
Dhawan, who retired from international cricket after a distinguished career across formats, continues to remain active in league cricket and social initiatives. His marriage has been widely welcomed by fans, who extended their wishes to the couple for a new beginning.
