The 15th edition of SIMA Texfair will be held from March 6 to 9 at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex on Avinashi Road here, bringing together key players from the textile machinery and technology sector.
Organised by the Southern India Mills’ Association, the biennial exhibition was launched in 2001 to support MSME-driven textile machinery and accessory manufacturers. Over the years, it has grown into a major sourcing and networking platform for suppliers and user industries. The first edition featured 186 exhibitors and attracted around 30,000 visitors.
SIMA Chairman Durai Palanisamy said the 2026 edition has drawn 240 exhibitors showcasing advanced textile machinery, spares, accessories, utilities and services. Participants include companies from Coimbatore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru, besides international exhibitors from Switzerland, Germany, Italy, China and Egypt. Around one lakh business visitors are expected to attend the four-day event.
P. R. Venketrama Raja, Chairman of Ramco Group, will inaugurate the exhibition. Ashwin Chandran, Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, will preside over the inaugural session, while S. Suresh Babuji, Director, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, will be the Guest of Honour. Prasanth Agarwal, Co-founder and Joint Managing Director of Wazir Advisors, will deliver the keynote address on the global textile outlook and emerging opportunities.
Palanisamy said recent free trade agreements with key markets, rationalisation of GST on man-made fibre products and other policy measures announced in the Union Budget 2026-27 are expected to boost investments in the sector.
SIMA will also launch the SIMA AI Tex Summit on March 6 afternoon, focusing on automation and AI-driven manufacturing. The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with free entry for business visitors.
