Singai Ramachandran, who recently joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam after leaving the AIADMK, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of StartupTN, the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission.
Ramachandran had earlier served as the AIADMK’s Information Technology Wing and Students’ Wing secretary. He contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election from the Coimbatore constituency as an AIADMK candidate.
He left the AIADMK in July and joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam last month in the presence of party president Vijay. The Tamil Nadu Government has now appointed him to head StartupTN.
His father, Singai Govindaraj, was also a former AIADMK MLA.
The appointment follows the resignation of Sivaraj Ramanathan as Project Director and Chief Executive Officer of StartupTN in June. After accepting his resignation, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam-led government assigned the additional charge to L. Nirmal Raju, Commissioner of Industries and Director of Industries and Commerce.
The responsibility has now been handed over to Singai Ramachandran.
