Tamil cinema actor Sivakarthikeyan has adopted an elephant named Prakruthi from the Arignar Anna Zoological Park, drawing appreciation from animal lovers and conservationists.
According to officials of the Vandalur zoo, Sivakarthikeyan has taken responsibility for the elephant’s food and maintenance expenses for a period of six months. The initiative is part of the zoo’s animal adoption programme, which allows individuals and organisations to support the welfare of animals housed at the park.
Zoo authorities said Prakruthi is in good health and that the actor’s contribution will help ensure continued quality care, nutrition and upkeep for the elephant during the adoption period.
This is not the first time Sivakarthikeyan has extended support to wildlife conservation. Last year, he had adopted a lion and a tiger from the same zoological park, earning praise for his consistent involvement in animal welfare initiatives.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is enjoying a successful phase in his film career. His latest release Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, is currently running in theatres and has been receiving a positive response from audiences.
