A devastating landslide triggered by torrential rains claimed six lives and left 19 others injured after massive rocks crushed a passenger bus on Sunday night.
The bus, carrying 32 passengers from Ho Chi Minh City, skidded off the Khanh Le mountain pass around 9:30 p.m. as falling boulders smashed into its front. Passengers were trapped inside the wreckage, with rescue efforts hampered by simultaneous landslides blocking both sides of the pass.
Emergency responders struggled for hours to reach the scene, eventually arriving after midnight to extract survivors and recover bodies. Local authorities confirmed that persistent heavy rain has caused landslides across multiple mountainous areas in the province, disrupting travel and heightening disaster alerts.
