In a startling incident, a couple traveling by car on the Namakkal–Salem Road narrowly escaped a fright when a small horned viper suddenly emerged from the vehicle’s side windshield near Puduchatram on Monday.
The husband and wife, shocked by the unexpected sight, immediately pulled over to the roadside. The reptile was seen slithering along the window before retreating. The couple captured the moment on their mobile phones, and the video has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and disbelief.
Forest officials said the horned viper, though venomous, is rarely found in vehicles and may have entered the car while it was parked in a rural area. They advised motorists to check their vehicles before travel, especially in regions close to fields or forested zones.
