In a shocking incident highlighting alleged apathy in government healthcare, a young man was forced to carry his elderly father on his shoulders inside the Guna District Government Hospital in Madhya Pradesh, as hospital staff reportedly failed to offer any
assistance.
Munesh Raghuvanshi had brought his father, Imrat Singh, to the government hospital after an ambulance dropped them at the main gate.
Due to old age and illness, Imrat Singh was unable to walk. Munesh searched for a stretcher but alleged that no hospital staff came forward to help him.
With no alternative, Munesh lifted his father onto his shoulders and walked through the hospital premises for several minutes. Despite staff witnessing the scene, none reportedly intervened to assist. The ordeal worsened when Munesh was told to take his father to the second floor.
With the lift out of order, he was left to manage alone.
Munesh eventually placed his father on a stretcher himself and dragged it up to the second floor without any help, drawing public attention and outrage within the hospital.
Speaking later, Munesh said his father suffers from high blood pressure and was brought to the hospital for timely
treatment. “I came here hoping for medical help, but no one helped me. I faced extreme hardship,” he said. The incident has triggered strong reactions, with many questioning the basic functioning and responsibility of staff at the government hospital.
