Sri Ramakrishna College Student Honoured With Rs.2.5 Lakh For Asian Games Bronze

A. Hariharan, a student of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science in Nava India, Coimbatore, was honoured with a cash award of Rs.2.5 lakh for winning a bronze medal in badminton while representing India at the Asian Games held in Japan.

A felicitation ceremony was organised on the college campus on Friday, October 9, 2026. Dr. Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee of the SNR Sons Charitable Trust, presented the cash award to Hariharan on behalf of the college in recognition of his achievement.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Sundar Ramakrishnan praised Hariharan’s hard work, perseverance and dedication. He also recalled the student’s achievements in national-level competitions and highlighted the institution’s commitment to encouraging students to excel in sports alongside academics.

He expressed confidence that Hariharan would inspire other students to pursue excellence in sports.

Dr. B. L. Shivakumar, Principal and Secretary of the college, congratulated the medal winner. Hariharan’s father, M. R. Amsakarunan, was also present at the ceremony.
