bacco Day, observed annually on May 31, Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital organised a public awareness programme at Anna Statue Traffic Signal in Coimbatore.
Staff members and students of the institution actively participated in the campaign to educate the public about the harmful effects of tobacco use and the importance of tobacco cessation.
During the red signal intervals, participants displayed placards carrying anti-tobacco messages and distributed informative pamphlets to motorists and pedestrians waiting at the signal.
The programme focused on spreading awareness about the dangers of smoking and smokeless tobacco products, including oral cancer and several other serious health complications.
The awareness drive was conducted under the guidance of Dr. J. Dinakar, Principal of Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital.
The institution reaffirmed its commitment towards community outreach activities and public health promotion through continuous awareness programmes and preventive initiatives.
