Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical celebrates annual sports

Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences (SRIPMS) College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore, celebrated its Annual Sports Day 2026 on Friday at the Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College Grounds, Vattamalaipalayam, Coimbatore.
C. V. Ramkumar, Chief Executive Officer of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Coimbatore, presided over the inaugural function. In his address, he stressed the importance of sports in developing discipline, teamwork and physical fitness among students.
Asian medalist and National Coach of the Indian Athletic Team, K. S. Mohamed Nizammuddin, the chief guest, highlighted the importance of fitness, discipline and perseverance in both sports and academics.
He said sports play a vital role in building character, teamwork and leadership qualities.
Dr. M. Gopal Rao, Vice Principal of SRIPMS College of Pharmacy, welcomed the gathering. The programme was held in the presence of Dr. S. Sriram, Principal, and Dr. R. Jayaprakasam, Professor and Sports Coordinator, whose continued support and coordination contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
The programme featured flag hoisting, a colourful march past by various student houses, the Olympic torch lighting ceremony and the athletes’ oath, reaffirming their commitment to the spirit of sportsmanship. K. S. Mohamed Nizammuddin and C. V. Ramkumar officially declared the athletic meet open by releasing doves and balloons.
The celebrations continued with various track and field events, in which students participated enthusiastically, displaying remarkable determination, competitive spirit and exemplary sportsmanship throughout the meet.
