Stalin Accuses Election Commission of Conspiracy Over Voter List Revision

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of orchestrating a “political conspiracy” under the guise of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, asserting confidently that the DMK will return to power in
2026.
Speaking at the wedding ceremony of Dharmapuri MP A. Mani’s family member, Stalin said an all-party meeting convened in Chennai on Sunday had passed a key resolution strongly opposing the SIR exercise.
“The Election Commission has planned an evil act — a conspiracy in the name of voter list revision. What they did in Bihar, they are now attempting in Tamil Nadu — giving very little time for corrections in order to eliminate voters,” Stalin charged.
He further accused AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami of maintaining a “double stance” by failing to oppose the SIR openly out of “fear of the BJP.” Stalin added that while Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav have already launched strong protests against the revision process in Bihar, the AIADMK’s absence from the all-party meeting in Tamil Nadu revealed its “political subservience.”
“Let Prime Minister Modi dare to speak in Tamil Nadu the same way he did in Bihar,” Stalin said defiantly. “The results of the 2026 Assembly election will make it clear — the Dravidian Model 2.0 government will be formed again in Tamil Nadu. It will be an election to save the state from the BJP and AIADMK.”
Later in the day, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction of a new bus stand at A. Reddihalli, near Sogathur Panchayat on the outskirts of Dharmapuri.
The facility, being developed over 10 acres of land, aims to enhance the district’s public transport infrastructure.
