Stalin pays tribute to Veteran actor-director K. Bhagyaraj

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin paid his last respects to veteran actor and director K. Bhagyaraj and described his demise as an irreparable loss to Tamil cinema.
In a message shared on X after paying homage in person, Stalin said Tamil cinema had lost a legendary filmmaker just weeks after losing his mentor. He hailed Bhagyaraj as the “uncrowned king of screenwriting”, a realistic hero, an accomplished writer who conveyed complex emotions through simple dialogues, and an exceptional director who excelled in every facet of filmmaking.
Stalin recalled attending the function held a few months ago to celebrate Bhagyaraj’s 50-year journey in the film industry, where he had spoken not only as a political leader but also as an admirer of the filmmaker.
He said those memories remain fresh. Expressing condolences to Bhagyaraj’s wife Poornima Bhagyaraj, son Shanthanu, daughter Saranya and other family members, as well as the film fraternity, Stalin said Bhagyaraj’s creative works would ensure that he remained an inseparable part of the hearts of the people of Tamil Nadu forever.
