Stalin to rest for two more days after viral fever

DMK president M.K. Stalin said on Wednesday that he would continue to rest at home for another two or three days after developing fever following a viral infection, on the advice of doctors.
Stalin had been suffering from fever, following which the Mupperum Vizha scheduled to be held at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai was postponed.
In a statement on his health, Stalin thanked everyone who had enquired about his condition. He said he was resting at home following the advice of doctors and that several programmes already scheduled had been postponed.
He also said a new date for the postponed Mupperum Vizha would be announced later on the instructions of the party general secretary.
Stalin thanked leaders of various political parties and organisations in Tamil Nadu, as well as members of the film fraternity, for enquiring about his health. He expressed gratitude for the concern shown by leaders of both alliance parties and other political parties and organisations.
Stalin also urged party cadres to observe the birth anniversary of Periyar and the founding day of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam on September 17 with enthusiasm.
He asked cadres to pay floral tributes to Periyar’s statue and take the Social Justice Day pledge at all party offices, as announced by the party leadership.
He further urged cadres to renew and hoist party flags to mark the beginning of the DMK’s 78th year.
