Stanes 1976 batch marks golden jubilee with grand reunion

The 1976 batch of Stanes Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School celebrated its Golden Jubilee Alumni Meet at a private resort in Anaikatti, bringing together classmates from across India and abroad.
The three-day reunion was held at Poppys Tusker Hill Resort, with alumni arriving from Australia, Bengaluru, Pollachi and various parts of Coimbatore.
Around 24 families and 10 individual members participated. A few classmates from the United States were unable to attend due to personal commitments.
The Correspondent, Chairperson, Governing Board members and four former teachers were felicitated during the event. A specially designed cake shaped in the number “50” was cut to mark the milestone.
A Naval tree sapling was planted to commemorate the occasion, sponsored by a classmate and provided through Siruthuli.

Group photographs were taken both at the school campus and at the resort. Cultural programmes, games and quiz competitions added colour to the celebrations, with women alumni taking the lead in organising events and distributing prizes.
Evening musical performances entertained the gathering, and several couples and teams received gifts.
Selfie booths were arranged to capture memories, and each participant received takeaway gifts. Photographs taken during the reunion were laminated and distributed at checkout.
Preparations for the event began in March 2025, with a four-member core committee scouting locations in Pollachi, Kotagiri and Anaikatti before finalising the venue.
In a joint message, the organising committee said the reunion was a reminder that though five decades had passed, the bond among classmates remained strong.
They expressed hope that the friendships rekindled during the Golden Jubilee would continue to flourish in the years ahead.
