Street Play Drive Plastic-Free Campaign In Kalpakkam

The Kalvi Oli Nigam Group, functioning from Chathurangapattinam in Chengalpattu district, has intensified its Thirukkural-based social outreach initiatives with a focused campaign to make Kalpakkam and its surrounding villages plastic-free.
As part of the drive, a street play was organised in collaboration with the Madras Atomic Power Station at Kalpakkam. Station Director Seshaiah participated as the special invitee and encouraged the environmental initiative.
Students from government schools and the Atomic Energy Central School, Kalpakkam, took part in the programme, presenting thought-provoking performances highlighting the hazards of plastic use and the growing threat of global warming. The street play conveyed environmental messages in a simple and impactful manner, making them accessible to the general public.
The event also featured a social awareness puppet show reinforcing the need to curb plastic consumption and protect the environment.
Kalvi Oli Nigam Group Chairman P. Ramesh, Secretary E.C.R. Solai, along with Munusamy, Priya Durairaj, Pakiyalakshmi Ramesh, Drama Director K. Gopal, S. Manimaran, N. Sathish, Ma. Iravi, K. Suryakumar, P. Lokanathan and Lokanayaki Bhoopal coordinated the programme and extended support to the participating students. Madras Atomic Power Station official Karunamoorthy, parents and members of the public were also present.
