Student Bharathidasan to receive education funds: Minister Vanni Arasu

Social Justice Minister Vanni Arasu has said that the Tamil Nadu Government will provide financial assistance to student Bharathidasan to enable him to continue his research studies in Malaysia under the Ambedkar Overseas Education Scholarship Scheme.
Bharathidasan, a Tamil Nadu student pursuing research studies in Malaysia under the scheme, had earlier released a video alleging that he had not received his education assistance despite seeking it since April.
He said the delay had put him at risk of being removed from his university.
The student later released another video stating that he had submitted all the required receipts and details to the Tamil Nadu Government, but was being blamed by the Social Justice Department. He also said that the delay in receiving funds for his second year had created difficulties in continuing his
studies.
Speaking to reporters in Tindivanam, Minister Vanni Arasu said the government would support Bharathidasan throughout his course and ensure that he completed his research programme.
He said the government had already sent the scholarship amount for the current year and assured that all necessary assistance would be provided for the student’s education.
The Minister said Bharathidasan was the only student from Tamil Nadu pursuing this particular research programme and that the government wanted him to complete his studies and return to the
State.
He added that the government would extend assistance to all students and said the education scholarship amount had been increased after the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government assumed office.
