A sense of pride and accomplishment filled the campus of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management (SVPISTM) as the institution celebrated its Graduates Day 2025, coinciding with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Technical Textile Laboratory established under the National Technical Textile Mission (NTTM).
Presiding over the ceremony, Dr. P. Alli Rani, Director of SVPISTM, described the occasion as a blend of joy and nostalgia, symbolizing the students’ transition into professional life. She highlighted the institute’s unique distinction as the only institution in India offering nine exclusive programs in textiles and management, reaffirming its commitment to industry-integrated education, innovation, and sustainability.
Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar, IAS, District Collector of Coimbatore, graced the event as Chief Guest. In his address, he lauded the institute’s contribution to building skilled professionals for India’s textile sector and urged graduates to explore new opportunities in entrepreneurship, fashion, and technical textiles, emphasizing the nation’s potential to emerge as a global leader in sustainable manufacturing.
Shanthi Srinivasan, Managing Director of Premier Fine Linens, served as the Guest of Honour and inaugurated the newly established Technical Textile Laboratory. She emphasized the growing importance of research, e-commerce, and analytics in reshaping the textile industry and encouraged students to cultivate reading and continuous learning as lifelong habits.
Awards for Best Outgoing Student, Best Project, and Academic Excellence were presented to top-performing graduates. The event marked a proud milestone in SVPISTM’s journey toward advancing India’s textile innovation and global competitiveness.
