Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management conducted a Cluster Cleanliness Camp at the Handloom Society in Vadampacheri as part of the Swachhata Pakhwada observance.
The programme was organised on March 13 to promote awareness on cleanliness, hygiene and environmental responsibility among members of the handloom community and residents of the surrounding areas.
Students and faculty members of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management actively participated in the drive.
They collected plastic waste and other non-biodegradable materials from the cluster area and ensured their proper disposal, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.
During the camp, the students also interacted with local weavers and residents and highlighted the importance of maintaining hygienic surroundings and adopting responsible waste management practices in everyday life. As part of the awareness initiative, a Nukkad Natak on the theme of cleanliness was staged at Sulur Park in the evening.
The street play emphasised sanitation, waste reduction and the need for community participation in maintaining clean public spaces.
Through the initiative, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility by encouraging public participation in building a clean and sustainable environment.
