Tamil Nadu Downtown Tigers emerged champions in the third edition of the Indian Para Cricket League (IPCL 3.0), organised by the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Gaalaxy in association with the Tamil Nadu Physically Challenged Cricket Association (TNPCCA).
The three-day national-level league, held from September 4 to 6 at 22 Yards, Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, brought together more than 60 para-cricket players from across India.
Four franchise teams competed in eight matches.In the final, Tamil Nadu Downtown Tigers defeated Kolkata Thunder Warriors by scoring 186 for six in 20 overs against 179 for nine to lift the IPCL 3.0title.Santhosh was named Man of the Series and Best Bowler, while Krishna Bagadi received the Best Batsman award.
The tournament was inaugurated in the presence of Kanimozhi Santhosh, MLA; Amsakumar Arusamy; Rtn. Kannappan; Rtn. Senthil Kumar; DRR Rtr. MPHF Vijay Vignesh; and DRR-Elect Rtr. Sanjay, besides Rotarians, Rotaractors, franchise representatives and players.
Conceptualised and driven by the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Gaalaxy, IPCL seeks to provide a national platform for para-cricket players to compete at a professional level, gain recognition and demonstrate their sportingabilities.
In association with TNPCCA, the league aims to strengthen the ecosystem for physically challenged cricketers by bringing together players, associations, franchise teams and the Rotary and Rotaract community.The organisers also provided accommodation, food, travel allowance and other essential tournament support to participating players.

The organisers said IPCL 3.0 further strengthened the league’s vision of using cricket to promote inclusion, opportunity, dignity and recognition for para-cricket players.
