Tell me truth, don’t save anyone: Stalin to DMK study team

DMK President M.K. Stalin on Friday held consultations with a 36-member committee appointed to study the reasons behind the party’s defeat in the Assembly elections and instructed the team to submit an honest and unbiased report.
The meeting was held at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai with members assigned to conduct field-level studies across all 234 Assembly constituencies.
In a post on X after the meeting, Stalin said the team members were acting as representatives of the party leadership and asked them to gather the true views of party cadres without favour or prejudice.
Stalin instructed the members not to “save anyone” or “seek revenge on anyone” while preparing the report. He also said criticism against him should not be hidden and asked the team to openly record the grievances and opinions expressed by party functionaries.
He directed the committee members to meet cadres only in pairs and avoid individual meetings. He further stressed that the information collected during the study should remain confidential and must not be shared with those concerned.
Comparing the exercise to a medical diagnosis, Stalin said the party could prescribe the right remedy only after clearly identifying the problems. He added that organisational reforms and changes would be introduced based on the findings of the committee.
The DMK chief instructed the team to submit the final report by June 5 and said corrective measures would be completed by the end of June.
