All India Congress Committee Secretary Nivedith said that the intentions of the Modi government can be understood from the fact that the central government has removed Mahatma Gandhi’s name from the 100-day employment scheme.
He paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait at the Erode Congress office on the occasion of Gandhi’s death anniversary. Congress members protested against the removal of Mahatma Gandhi’s name by tying black cloth over their mouths.
He told reporters: The central government has passed the law removing Mahatma Gandhi’s name without cabinet and parliamentary debate. Increasing the 100-day employment scheme to 125 days is a mere eyewash. This new scheme has various conditions that are against the people and will impose a financial burden on the state governments. As far as the Tamil Nadu electionsare concerned, the leaders have already expressed their views on the alliance. The negotiation committee appointed by the Congress has already met with the Chief Minister. Therefore, there is no problem in the alliance. It is wrong to say that the DMK has not met the negotiation committee. New Congress district presidents have been elected in various districts. They have to appoint other office bearers.
I have come to give advice in this regard and to discuss party development with them. Congress City District President Rajesh Rajappa, former MLA R.M Palanisamy, and office bearers Thiruchelvam, Jawahar Ali, E.P. Ravi, Kulam Rajendran, Gowthaman, Arshad, and Badsha were present at the event.
The alliance is firm: Cong leader
