‘This is enough, leader’: Stalin’s gesture moves DMK functionary to tears

A deeply emotional moment unfolded at Anna Arivalayam during the 41st ‘Udanpirappe Va’ interaction, where Chief Minister M.K. Stalin met party administrators from Ottapidaram, Alangulam and Kanyakumari constituencies. As the meeting progressed, Sivakumar, South Union Secretary from Alangulam, spoke with visible emotion about his father, Muthuvel, a lifelong DMK loyalist.
“My father has been with the party since 1967. Even today, he sits at a tea stall and speaks proudly about the DMK. Can I bring him someday to take a photo with you?” he asked, his voice trembling.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Chief Minister Stalin replied gently,
“Call your father now. I will speak with him.”
Sivakumar immediately dialed his father. Watching Stalin speak kindly to the elderly DMK worker, Sivakumar could not hold back his tears. Overcome with emotion, he bowed before the Chief Minister and said,
“This is enough, Leader… This itself is enough.”
The hall erupted in applause as party members witnessed the touching exchange that reflected the enduring bond between grassroots workers and the party leadership.
In a separate development at the previous day’s session, a complaint was raised alleging that P.V. Mahalingam, Sultanpet West Union Secretary of Coimbatore South District, had links with the AIADMK. After an inquiry, Mahalingam was removed from his post and R. Ramesh was appointed in his place.
