Ticket sales for the 2026 T20 World Cup, to be hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8, began today at 6.15 p.m.
A total of 20 teams will participate in the tournament. Twelve teams, including hosts India and Sri Lanka, the top seven teams from the previous T20 World Cup, and three teams based on ICC T20 rankings, have qualified directly. The remaining teams entered through qualifiers.
The 20 teams have been divided into four groups of five. At the end of the league stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 round, where they will again be split into two groups. The top two teams from each Super 8 group will qualify for the semi-finals.
A total of 55 matches will be played, including 40 league matches and 12 matches in the Super 8 stage.
In India, matches will be held in Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, and other cities. In Sri Lanka, matches are scheduled in Colombo and Kandy.
Tickets went on sale at tickets.cricketworldcup.com at 6.15 p.m. today. The minimum ticket price has been set at Rs 100, while the starting price for the highly anticipated India–Pakistan match is Rs 750.
Soon after sales opened, a sudden spike in online traffic caused the ticketing website to temporarily crash, reflecting the massive interest among cricket fans.
