A tiger crossing a road in front of a safari vehicle at the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve left tourists amazed and provided them with a rare wildlife sighting.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening in the forest area near Moyar village, where tourists were travelling in a safari vehicle. A tiger suddenly emerged from bushes beside the road and calmly crossed the road before disappearing into the forest on the other side.
The safari driver immediately stopped the vehicle after spotting the tiger. Tourists recorded the sighting on their mobile phones.
While elephants, gaurs and deer are commonly spotted during safaris in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, tourists said seeing a tiger at such close range and in clear view was a rare and memorable experience.
The video showing the tiger crossing the road has since been widely shared on social media.
