TN emerges as intellectual capital

A few days ago, the Reserve Bank of India, the Central government, released statistics on the development status of Indian states, revealing a new record: Tamil Nadu has topped India with 16 percent of the Gross Domestic State Product (GSDP).
Following that, according to the Indian patent records recently released by the Industry Guide Institute, it has been revealed that Tamil Nadu has seen tremendous growth.
That is, Tamil Nadu has re-established itself as the intellectual capital of the country by taking the top spot in filing patents in India. Out of the total (68,201) patents filed in India, Tamil Nadu alone has registered 15,440 patents. Thus, it is noteworthy that Tamil Nadu has taken a huge lead over other states in patent filings. This is approximately 23 percent of the total number in the country.
Compared to the previous fiscal year 2023&2024, patent filings have increased from 9,565 to 15,440 in the fiscal year 2024-2025. This 62 percent growth reflects the rapid acceleration of indigenous innovation and research in the state.
Tamil Nadu’s deep research base, strong professional strength, and close collaboration between academic institutions and industry are key factors behind this historic achievement.
Through this continuous development, Tamil Nadu has emerged as a major force in the intellectual property and innovation sector in India.
Thus, due to the visionary thinking and hard work of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Tamil Nadu has made immense progress since 2021 and has emerged as the best state in India.
Let’s be proud!
