Traffic Diversions in Coimbatore on Oct. 9 for CM Stalin’s Visit

In view of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s visit to inaugurate the Avinashi Road Flyover, the Coimbatore City Police have announced extensive traffic diversions on October 9, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

According to a police release, buses and heavy vehicles entering the city from Neelambur L&T Bypass will be diverted through Chinthamanipudur, Ondipudur, Singanallur, Ramanathapuram, and Sungam, before proceeding via K.R. Road, Avinashi Road, and Anna Statue Junction to reach Gandhipuram. Light vehicles coming from the bypass will be diverted at Thottipalayam Pirivu through Kalapatti Four Roads and Vilankurichi.

For vehicles exiting the city from Gandhipuram via Avinashi Road, a U-turn must be taken at Lakshmi Mills to continue through Puliakulam, Ramanathapuram, Singanallur, and the L&T Bypass. Vehicles from Sathy Road will be rerouted via Ganapathy, Water Tank, Vilankurichi, and Kalapatti Four Roads to reach the bypass.

Light vehicles and city buses heading towards Avinashi Road will take a U-turn at Tidel Park and use Kamarajar Road via Singanallur. Heavy vehicles will not be permitted along Vilankurichi, Thaneerpandal, Gandhi Ma Nagar, and Codissia routes, and will instead be diverted through Kalapatti Four Roads and Thenampalayam. Light vehicles from Thaneerpandal bound for Avinashi Road will be allowed through Codissia Road via Gandhi Ma Nagar and Pioneer Mills.

 

Traffic from Ukkadam via Athupalam and Sundarapuram towards Pollachi Road will be diverted left at Kurichi Pirivu via Podanur Kadaiveedhi, Rail Kalyanmandapam, Chettipalayam, and Eachanari to reach the service road.

Vehicles entering from Pollachi Road will be diverted at Karpagam College Junction to the service road, take a U-turn near Eachanari Temple, and proceed through Chettipalayam Road, Rail Kalyanmandapam, Podanur, Nanjundapuram Road, and Ramanathapuram to enter the city.

Buses and heavy vehicles from Madukkarai Market will be routed via Pillayarpuram Checkpost, Sugunapuram, Kovaipudur Pirivu, Kuniamuthur, and Puttuvikki to reach Coimbatore. Light vehicles will turn left at Masampalayam Pirivu via Gnanapuram and Palakkad Road.

Police have appealed to motorists to plan their travel in advance, follow diversion routes, and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the Chief Minister’s visit.
