Truck overturns onto car, driver killed

A tragic road accident claimed the life of a car driver in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday after a goods truck lost control and overturned onto his vehicle on the Rampur–Nainital highway.
The car, provided by the government for official use of an Electricity Board officer, was being driven by its driver alone at the time of the incident. According to police, the car had halted at a traffic signal and was taking a right turn as the signal changed.
At that moment, a goods truck approaching from behind reportedly went out of control and overturned directly onto the car, crushing it completely. The impact was severe, and the driver died on the spot.
Police rushed to the scene after being alerted and faced considerable difficulty in retrieving the body from the mangled vehicle. The body was later sent for post-mortem examination.
An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident, police said.
