TVK leader Vijay has said that steps will be taken to waive the crop loans of farmers who own up to 5 acres of land.
Speaking at a campaign meeting of party cadres near Chengipatti in Thanjavur district, Vijay made his election promises for the second phase.
Earlier, he had announced his first phase of poll promises in Vellore. Accordingly, he announced “Once our government is formed, we will ensure that there is no shortage of fertilizer for Delta farmers.”
We will explore the possibilities and take action to completely waive crop loans from agricultural cooperative banks for farmers holding up to 5 acres of land and to waive up to 50% of crop loans for farmers holding more than 5 acres.
We will tell everyone openly, without discriminating like the DMK.
The government will bear the entire cost of all types of education for children of farmers and landless people with land up to 2 acres, provided that no one in the family is a State or Central government employee. No plans will be brought against the farmers, and despite pressure from the central government.
The TVK will completely reject it. The TVK will always stand by the farmers.
Paddy bundles will be protected at procurement centers. Our government will not watch as paddy sprouts and goes to waste.
Adequate procurement center facilities will be established.
It will be ensured that no commission is charged for purchasing or loading and unloading rice bales at the procurement centers.
Strict action will be taken against those found to be charging commission.
One ration shop will be set for every 500 ration cards. Weighers will also be appointed in villages.
A female weigher will be appointed for female vendors and a male weigher will be appointed for male vendors.
All items except rice will be distributed in packet form at ration shops.
The Central government should ensure legal protection for fishermen. We will put real pressure on the Central government for that.
Our government will give priority to women, children and youth.
“Not only government jobs but also guarantees for private jobs will be created,” he said.
