A two-day training camp for players selected for the India Para Sitting Cricket team was organised by the India Sitting Cricket Association at the PSK ground in Aranvoyal, Tiruvallur, on October 2 and 3.
Players from various districts of Tamil Nadu and other States participated in the camp. A special medical camp was also conducted. Players who showcased their skills were presented with special prizes, while participants were honoured with prizes, medals and cheques at the valedictory function.
Association office-bearers Mohammed Gathafi, Hariharan, Bala Haridas, Srinivasan, Arunkumar, Vinoth Kumar and Muthukumar participated in the event, along with doctors, advocates, a VCK functionary and a headmaster.
The camp aimed to encourage and support para sitting cricketers, said P. Devakanthan, vice-president of the association and director of physical education.
