Two Sisters Electrocuted by Live Wire in Ballia

A tragic incident has struck Jirabasti village in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, where two sisters died after coming in contact with a live electric wire submerged in rainwater.

The victims were identified as Aanchal Yadav (15), a Class 9 student, and her younger sister Alka Yadav (12), studying in Class 6. The sisters, who regularly walked home together from school, were returning yesterday evening when the tragedy occurred.

According to police, the road was waterlogged due to continuous rains. A severed electric wire had fallen into the stagnant water, unnoticed by the sisters. As they stepped on it, both were electrocuted and died instantly.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. Grief has engulfed the village as the shocking loss of two young lives from the same family has devastated the parents and relatives.

Locals have accused the Electricity Board of negligence and demanded immediate action against responsible officials. The incident has sparked anger in the area, with residents urging authorities to ensure proper safety measures to prevent such tragedies in future.
