Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to visit Erode on January 5

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit the turmeric fields and turmeric complex in Erode and interact with farmers at 7 am on Jan 5, 2026.
Later, at the Lakshmi Duraisamy Mahal in Villarasanpatti,
He will interact with over 500 leaders and directors of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), farmer association leaders, organic farmers, agricultural machinery manufacturers, ATMA scheme officials, and women agricultural entrepreneurs at the farmers awareness meet of BJP at 3 pm.
All the above events are non-political and aimed at the development of Tamil Nadu. Since departmental officials will also be participating in this event, BJP Farmers’ Wing State President G.K. Nagaraj handed over the event invitation to Housing Minister Muthusamy and urged him to participate along with the officials to address the farmers’ grievances.
In response, Minister Muthusamy stated that although several events were scheduled for that day, he would bring it to the Chief Minister’s attention and try to participate in the Central Government’s event.
He added that although the Central Government announces various schemes and provides funding, it is only the state government officials who implement them.
Therefore, for the benefit of the farmers and to protect their livelihoods, he expressed his desire to participate in the aforementioned event.
Agri wing State Vice President Mr. Pandian, District President S.M. Senthil, State Social Media In-charge Mr. Satishkumar, and Farmers’ Wing Conference Committee member Mr. Sasikumar, were present.
