A government doctor in Uttar Pradesh was suspended after a video surfaced showing him dancing with his newlywed wife inside the emergency ward of the Shamli District Hospital.
The doctor, Waqar Siddique, had reportedly married just days earlier.
During his duty hours the day before yesterday, his wife visited the hospital. Siddique allegedly took her to the first floor, asked patients to leave the ward, and began dancing with her.
Footage captured by patients on their mobile phones shows him swinging medical equipment like a prop, hugging his wife, and even rolling with her beneath a hospital
bed.
The visuals spread rapidly on social media, sparking outrage.
Hospital authorities sought an explanation from Siddique, but deemed his response unsatisfactory and issued an immediate suspension order. Critics online described the act as “deeply irresponsible” for someone entrusted with emergency care.
Many demanded stricter measures to prevent such misconduct inside government hospitals.
