Vibes of Chettinad Set to Bring Heritage to Coimbatore

A two-day Chettinad shopping and food festival titled “Vibes of Chettinad” will take place on November 15 and 16 at Suguna Auditorium, Kalapatti Road, from 10.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m., the Kovai Nagarathar Sangam announced this
afternoon.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. P.L.K. Palaniappan, Chairman; Mr. A.L.K.R. Manikandan, Vice Chairman; and Mr. S. Sundaresan, President of the Sangam, said the event is being organised as part of the annual Coimbatore Vizha, which is held under the guidance of the Coimbatore District Administration with the participation of more than 100 corporate organisations. They said this edition aims to offer the people of Coimbatore an immersive experience of Chettinad’s rich culture, architecture, craftsmanship, and cuisine.
The festival will host over 100 entrepreneurs exhibiting a diverse range of products. Alongside them, more than 100 children aged 8 to 16 will showcase their budding entrepreneurial skills. A specially designed façade inspired by traditional Chettinad mansions will greet visitors, setting the tone for the celebrated region’s cultural essence. Stalls will offer authentic Chettinad delicacies, handcrafted products, and traditional artefacts.
Competitions including art, handwriting, and speech contests will be conducted for school students, while cultural programmes such as singing and musical performances are scheduled across both days.
The organisers emphasised that entry is free, inviting the public to enjoy the festival’s blend of heritage, food, business, and artistry.
