Actor Vijay, founder and leader of the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), who is actively preparing for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled next year, attended the wedding reception of producer Siva’s daughter on Monday. The video of his presence at the function has since gone viral on social media.
Vijay had launched his political outreach tour from Tiruchirapalli in September, during which he met the public in Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Karur districts.
However, the tour was abruptly postponed following the tragic stampede incident in Karur, in which 41 people lost their lives. After that, the TVK leadership limited activities to internal party meetings, in which Vijay participated.
Last month, Vijay addressed party cadres at a closed-door indoor meeting in Kanchipuram, where only 2,000 participants were permitted, keeping safety concerns in mind.
In this backdrop, Vijay’s appearance at the private wedding reception of producer Siva’s daughter attracted public attention. The video clips from the function, showing Vijay congratulating the bride and groom, quickly spread across social media platforms and became widely discussed.
