Vijay Cuddalore Campaign Cancelled Again

With the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections scheduled for April 23 and campaigning permitted only till April 21 evening, political parties have intensified their outreach across the State.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has been actively addressing public meetings in multiple locations daily, while AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami continues his vehicle campaign across constituencies. Naam Tamilar Katchi Chief Coordinator Seeman is also touring extensively to garner support for his candidates.
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay has been engaged in a statewide whirlwind campaign seeking votes for his party’s whistle symbol.
He had earlier planned campaign events in four locations in Cuddalore district — Cuddalore, Vadalur, Sethiyathoppu and Thittakudi — and obtained police permission with conditions. However, the events were abruptly cancelled.
Fresh permission was later sought to hold the campaign on Saturday at the same venues. The police granted approval again, imposing 21 conditions. As per the schedule, the campaign was to begin in Cuddalore at 2 p.m. and conclude after meetings in Vadalur, Sethiyathoppu and Thittakudi by 9 p.m.
Despite securing permission once again, the campaign has been cancelled for a second time. The reason for the sudden cancellation has not been officially disclosed.
