TVK leader and Chief Coordinator of the party’s High-Level Administrative Committee K. A. Sengottaiyan said actor Vijay entered politics with the aim of becoming the Chief Minister and there was no question of discussing the Deputy Chief Minister post.
Speaking to reporters at Coimbatore Airport, Sengottaiyan said Vijay had stepped into politics through Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam with the intention of serving the people.
He said the large crowds gathering wherever Vijay travels indicate that people are seeking a political change in Tamil Nadu. Alleging that the law and order situation in the State is not satisfactory, he claimed that women were not feeling safe and people were living in fear.
Sengottaiyan also said there was a growing sentiment among the public that the DMK should not return to power and claimed that Vijay had the ability to bring about political change.
He further said Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam had capable candidates to contest in all 234 Assembly constituencies.
Responding to a question, he said there had been no discussions so far regarding a TVK–NDA alliance.
