In an intense display of devotion, a woman fan of actor Vijay shaved her head and offered her hair at a temple in Anakaputhur near Chennai, praying for the smooth release of his upcoming film Jananayagan, which has reportedly been facing release-related hurdles.
The fan, Aishwarya Madan, a resident of Anakaputhur, has been a devoted admirer of Vijay since childhood. Her loyalty to the actor is evident from a tattoo of Vijay’s image on her right hand. She has been associated with Vijay Makkal Iyakkam and later became active in the Chengalpattu North District Women’s Wing after the launch of Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
With Jananayagan, slated for release during the Pongal festival, encountering delays and issues, Aishwarya took a vow and tonsured her head at the Ayodhya Amman Temple in Anakaputhur.
She offered her hair to the deity, seeking divine blessings for the film’s early and obstacle-free release. Speaking to the media, Aishwarya said she was deeply disturbed by the problems faced by Vijay and the film. She drew parallels between cinematic narratives and real life, stating that those who attempt to bring change often face resistance.
She added that such situations now appeared to be affecting Vijay as well. “I shaved my head praying that Jananayagan should release soon without any hindrance. I am ready to go to any extent for the release of Vijay’s film,” she said.
Her act has attracted attention among fans and on social media, with reactions ranging from admiration for her devotion to concern over the extremes of fan culture. Jananayagan has generated considerable expectations among Vijay’s supporters, especially in the backdrop of his growing political presence in Tamil Nadu.
