Vijay urges voters to reject DMK after taking money campaign in Perambur

Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay launched his election campaign in the Perambur Assembly constituency after filing his nomination, sharply criticising the DMK government and appealing to voters to support his party.
Addressing the public, Vijay said he chose Perambur to begin his campaign considering it close to his roots. He accused the DMK government of failing to maintain law and order in Tamil Nadu and alleged that women’s safety had been severely compromised during its five-year rule.
He questioned the effectiveness of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who also holds the Home portfolio, in ensuring basic security for citizens.
In a controversial remark, Vijay urged voters to accept money allegedly distributed by the DMK during elections but still vote for his party’s “whistle” symbol.
The campaign marks the beginning of Vijay’s active electoral outreach as his party contests the Assembly elections scheduled for April 23.
