Village Assistants start signature campaign in blood

Tamil Nadu Revenue Department Village Assistants Association has started a signature campaign in blood at the Erode Taluk office demanding the fulfillment of their demands. This protest is being held in all the Taluk offices. Demands:
The assistants should be paid a salary of Rs. 15,700. The files pending in the Secretariat for three years regarding the final amount of CPS subscription should be approved. Promotion should be given on the basis of educational qualification as it was given in the past on compassionate grounds. The time limit of completing ten years of service for promotion should be changed to six years. Fifty percent of the vacant posts in the revenue department should be allotted to them.
Former state president Rajasekhar led this protest. He said that they will submit these petitions to the Chief Minister on Dec17th and that they will go on an indefinite strike from February.
