Villupuram Man Held For Fake Voting In Puducherry

A man from Villupuram has been arrested for allegedly casting a fake vote in the Mannadipet Assembly constituency in Puducherry.
Police identified the accused as Prasad, who was taken into custody and later remanded to judicial custody.
Preliminary investigation revealed that he had allegedly used the booth slip of a voter currently residing abroad to cast the vote.
During interrogation, Prasad is said to have claimed that he was pressured by associates linked to the BJP to commit the offence. Police are verifying the claim as part of further investigation.
Authorities are continuing inquiries to ascertain if more individuals were involved in the incident and to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
