With the arrival of KAS TVK to gain strength

Senior politician K.A. Sengottaiyan, who quit the AIADMK, met TVK leader Vijay in person within hours of resigning from his MLA post, creating a huge stir in Tamil Nadu political circles. As expected, Sengottaiyan met Vijay this morning and joined TVK.
Sengottaiyan is one of the most senior politicians in Tamil Nadu today. After Duraimurugan, who was an MLA for 10 times from 1971, Sengottaiyan has the distinction of being elected as an MLA for 9 times from 1977 to now. No one can deny that he was one of the important leaders of the AIADMK from the MGR era to the Jayalalithaa era.
But for the past few months, differences between Sengottaiyan and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami had been growing. Sengottaiyan’s insistence on reintegrating those who had left the AIADMK into the party had angered the EPS leadership. Sengottaiyan’s expulsion from the party on the same grounds sent shockwaves among AIADMK workers. In this context, his resignation as MLA this morning and his joining the TVK is seen as a signal for the next phase of political change.
Even though it has been two years since Vijay started his party, no big politician or film celebrity has joined TVk so far. This is a big shortcoming. Sengottaiyan is a person important enough to fill that space. Political observers say that his joining is a clear strength for TVK.
Sengottaiyan is particularly familiar with the Kongu region. He has deep experience in the politics, social situation, vote banks, and problems of the region. Sengottaiyan’s experience will be a great political resource for Vijay as he tries to gain a foothold in the Kongu region.
Moreover, Sengottaiyan has the experience of meeting MGR in person and managing Jayalalithaa’s large gatherings. His political experience will certainly be helpful to the TVK leadership, which is currently facing crowd congestion and administrative challenges.
In contrast, the AIADMK side has taken Sengottaiyan’s split lightly. Even AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami has briefly replied to a question on the matter, saying, “He is not in the AIADMK. So there is no need to answer.”
But the truth is, Sengottaiyan’s removal has caused great dissatisfaction among many AIADMK workers. Dissatisfaction with the EPS leadership may increase, especially among old AIADMK leaders who want unification. As a result, there is talk in political circles that some AIADMK executives will follow Sengottaiyan and join TVK.
With half a century of experience, Sengottaiyan is undoubtedly a strength for Vijay’s party, which is facing elections for the first time. Moreover, since he has good relations with many party leaders, he can also act as a key link in forming an alliance.
However, another big question is how the current key leaders of the TVK, like Pussy Anand and Aadhav Arjuna, will accept a senior like Sengottaiyan. How is the TVK, which has many young leaders, going to handle the senior politician Sengottaiyan? How is Vijay going to utilize his experience? The question that has arisen now is.
What change will Sengottaiyan’s arrival bring to TVK?
Let’s wait and see!
