Woman assaults SI’s daughter, flees with gold at Koyambedu

A special police team has been deployed to hunt for a woman who assaulted the daughter of a female Special Sub-Inspector and escaped after snatching her gold chain at the Koyambedu bus stand on Tuesday.
The victim, Kamalaloshini (25), a resident of Kattupakkam in Tiruvallur district, had travelled to Guindy for an interview at a private company. After completing the interview, she arrived at the Koyambedu bus stand in the afternoon to return home.
According to police, when she entered the toilet at the bus stand, an unidentified woman suddenly grabbed her by the neck from behind and attacked her. In the struggle, the assailant forcibly removed the 5.5-sovereign gold chain worn by Kamalaloshini and fled the scene.
Shocked by the sudden attack, Kamalaloshini raised an alarm, but the suspect had escaped before anyone could intervene. She then rushed to the Koyambedu Police Station and lodged a complaint.
Following this, the crime branch initiated an investigation, and a special team has begun analysing CCTV footage from inside and around the Koyambedu bus stand to identify and track down the woman involved.
Police sources noted that the victim is the daughter of a female Special SI currently serving at the Koyambedu Police Station, adding urgency to the probe.
Further investigations are in progress.
