A woman’s body, cut into pieces and packed into bags, was found inside a Sintex water tank on the terrace of a rented house in Salem, creating shock in the area.
The body was recovered from the water tank at a rented house on Kunabala Ramasamy Street in Arisipalayam after residents noticed a foul smell.
Based on a complaint lodged by Ramesh, a priest residing in the house, Pallapatti police launched an investigation with the assistance of fingerprint experts and a sniffer dog.
Police found that the woman’s body had been cut into seven pieces and packed into three bags before being dumped inside the water tank.
Police are investigating the identity of the deceased woman and the circumstances and motive behind the murder.
