You can’t touch CSK in Cricket and TVK in elections: Vijay

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay on Tuesday said that just as no team can touch Chennai Super Kings in cricket, no party can challenge his party in elections.
Speaking at a campaign meeting of party executives and members near Sengipatti in Thanjavur district, Vijay said his movement represents the true voice of the people of Tamil Nadu.
Referring to his earlier speech at Vellore, Vijay said he had remarked that “Tamil Nadu is Vijay and Vijay is Tamil Nadu” because he believed he represented the aspirations of the people.
He alleged that when he spoke about the political contest being between himself and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in the upcoming Assembly elections, some attempted to portray him as supporting the BJP.
Criticising the DMK government, Vijay said leaders in Chennai speak strongly about Delhi but later compromise when faced with pressure.
Drawing a comparison with cricket, he said Delhi could not even challenge the Tamil Nadu team in the sport and that Chennai Super Kings dominates cricket, while his party would dominate elections in Tamil Nadu.
Vijay said no one could come between him and the people of Tamil Nadu, describing the bond between them as a deep emotional relationship rather than just a political connection.
