A shocking road rage incident in Bengaluru has led to the arrest of a youth who allegedly threatened a family travelling in a car with a knife in the middle of a busy road, causing widespread alarm after the video went viral on social media.
The incident, captured on the car’s dashboard camera, shows a heated argument between the occupants of the car and a biker. In the video, a person inside the car is heard questioning the biker about his abusive behaviour. The enraged youth then stops his two-wheeler abruptly in the middle of the road, approaches the car, pulls out a knife from his pocket and threatens to kill the occupants if they raise their voice.
The disturbing visuals spread rapidly across social media platforms, drawing strong reactions from the public and prompting swift police action. Acting on the viral footage, the Bengaluru Police identified and arrested the accused.
Police said the arrested youth has been identified as Syed Arbaaz Khan, who is employed at a fish shop in the city. A knife used in the incident was also seized.
The Bengaluru City Police later released the video officially and issued a strong warning against acts of violence and intimidation on public roads. In a statement, the police said that misbehaviour, brandishing of weapons, threats and actions that disturb public peace would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Police officials stated that such incidents create fear among the public and pose a serious threat to road safety. They assured that strict and swift legal action would be taken against those indulging in violent or indecent behaviour in public places.
