YouTuber Jason Samuel Arrested in Connection With Finance Influencer Harish’s Death

YouTuber Jason Samuel has been arrested by police in connection with the death of 27-year-old Chennai-based social media influencer Harish, who allegedly died by suicide on October 20.
Harish ran Instagram and YouTube accounts under the name “Finance With Harish”, sharing financial advice with more than one million followers across social media platforms.
According to a complaint filed by Harish’s father at the Kanathur police station, Jason Samuel, the chief executive officer of Venture Studio Jemuria Inc., had complained to Meta alleging that Harish was providing misleading financial information. Following the complaint, Harish’s Instagram account was suspended.
Harish subsequently launched another channel and continued posting videos, but a complaint was reportedly filed against that account as well. His father alleged that the repeated complaints and online criticism caused Harish severe mental distress.
The complaint further alleged that Jason Samuel threatened Harish over his financial and investment advice and questioned whether he held certification from the Securities and Exchange Board of India
(SEBI).
Harish reportedly posted a video online before his death. Following his father’s complaint alleging that Jason Samuel’s actions contributed to the death, police arrested the YouTuber. The allegations are subject to investigation.
