Security cover for former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin has been downgraded from Z category to escort security with effect from Monday.
Stalin had earlier been provided Z-plus category security. After the change of government led by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, his security cover was reduced to Z category.
Under Z-plus security, 58 police personnel are deployed on a rotational basis each day, while 33 personnel are deployed under Z category security.
Under the escort security arrangement, only four police personnel led by a Sub-Inspector will be deployed.
AIADMK general secretary and former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami is also provided the same escort security cover.
