BJP leader K. Annamalai intensified the final phase of campaigning in support of NDA candidate Vanathi Srinivasan in the Coimbatore North Assembly constituency on April 21, 2026.
The campaign began with a two-wheeler rally from Sivashakthi Colony, where K. Annamalai rode the vehicle with Vanathi Srinivasan and canvassed votes. The rally saw participation from BJP, AIADMK and NDA cadre in large numbers. Addressing reporters, K. Annamalai criticised the DMK government, alleging that law and order had deteriorated and referring to the closure of the Ramanathapuram police station in Coimbatore as an example of what he termed “anarchic politics”.
He said that public sentiment was shifting in favour of the National Democratic Alliance and claimed that election trends were yet to fully capture the extent of support for the alliance. K. Annamalai also targeted DMK leader Senthil Balaji, stating that voters would deliver their verdict against him in the elections.
He alleged that money power would not influence the outcome and expressed confidence in the victory of Vanathi Srinivasan.
He further urged the Election Commission and district administration to ensure strict enforcement of poll regulations and prevent the presence of unnecessary outsiders in the constituency. Stating that voters would give a decisive mandate on April 23, K. Annamalai expressed confidence that Vanathi Srinivasan would secure victory in Coimbatore North.
